The purpose of the Republican healthcare plan:

Number one, it is to repeal "Obamacare".

Number two, it is to cut Medicaid and give a taxcut to the wealthy.

Nothing else matters.

They don't give a damn about the health of the American people.

I'm not seeing this delightful part of the House travesty in any of the articles about the "reveal" of the new one. I'm
sure it's buried in there somewhere.

Many, many Medicaid recipients are older Americans not yet old enough for Medicare but forced out of employment and unable to regain jobs with decent plans.

It bears stating directly, of course, but I believe that is how that happens.

That open market plans can charge older people. Somewhere in the fine print. They just fucked their voting base but it won't matter, will it?

They think the poor do not deserve it. Never mind those working minimum wage jobs with no benefits. They should just work harder and get a better job.

They have no real concept of the obstacles the poor and working poor face. (I've had this argument with a coworker.)

I have stage 3 kidney disease and bladder cancer. I have Medicare and Medicaid, SS is about $12,000 a year. I have already decided I will have to forego treatment if they take away Medicaid and reduce Medicare.

As proof, it is being reported that the group of Republican Senators that were supposed to fix the House version have not even read the bill. The only people that know what is in the new bill are a few aides and some lobbyists.

I am sorry to hear of your difficulties.

The ACA mitigated some of that, but now we just have to return to it, no matter how many lives are destroyed in the process. Social control is what makes our system "the greatest healthcare system in the world".

Reform means opposing this, from the top down as well as from the bottom up.
