They can't stand doubts about their mythology of America being fair and a land of opportunity for everyone regardless of circumstances. Myth over reality. Scapegoats over doubting the system.

If it wasn't for the fact that most African Americans know better given this country's history, it wouldn't surprise me if their most religious members accepted such mythology as well.

There are people who can't walk and the alternative to a wheelchair is being locked up in a nursing home. Walking is so painful or difficult that having a wheelchair to use is a tremendous relief. Wheelchairs represent liberation for many people.

The proposed cuts may limit or eliminate funding for mobility equipment, and the option to get out of bed with the help of an assistant that provides in-home services that allow people whose bodies are less mobile than average to live independent, and satisfying lives.

Many of them have accepted the idea that the USA is a good and fair country with equal opportunity for everyone regardless of their circumstances.

My brother lost most of his eyesight years ago. He attended meetings of a blindness group that turned out to be run by a strong conservative. The group repeatedly failed to provide truly helpful information and the guest speakers were blind or visually-impaired people who were "successful" despite their handicap. My brother always talked to them after their talks and discovered that every one of the "successful" speakers had received large sums of money from parents to own a business! Every... single... one.

Lots of white people have been attacked by right-wingers for protesting wars and the like. Again, it's seen as an attack on the "good and fair" mythology of the USA.

Poor white people often accept the mythology too. Even if they're poor and receiving government aid, they often don't place the blame on our economic system. They'd rather seek scapegoats for their situation.

Most African Americans aren't so delusional given their history in this country.

a GOP talking point or already is. This is terrible to say the least. It only helps the GOP if the disabled stay in the shadows until their appointment with Trumpcare/deathcare comes.

80. "Great idea" came across to me as if in favor of using disabled people as a tactic to get attention.

I wasn't against the idea, just how it was talked about.

yesterday about a woman with a disabled child (lives in red state KS) that was worried about cuts being made to Medicaid because her child depends on it. At the end of the article she made a point of saying she is a conservative Christian and not some liberal democrat. All I have to say to that is when you voted republican, you voted to have your child's Medicaid cut. No sympathy for you mom, but I do for the child because you have a short sited sighted mother.

The prick would only feel offended if people started lighting themselves on fire in protest, like the monk protesters in Vietnam, because they would leave a foul odor in the air. I seriously do not think that would even stop these evil bastards.

He truly deserves to roast in hell for eternity, along with the rest of his republican frauds.
