Granted this is a promotional video from Boeing, but the last minute or so has some pretty incredible footage of these two aircraft flying together over the mountains of the Pacific Northwest (I assume that's where it was filmed!)
Beautiful, and looks like fun!
Edit to add this 'By The Way'....

(11,862 posts)Thank you for the time and the link...seating looks crowded...it's been awhile since I flew...from VA to NY and back..two seats on each side of the aisle...I even had to walk on the tarmac and climb steps.
Been awhile

(24,362 posts)Unfortunately, we live in a time when the airlines want, if not need every seat filled and as many as possible inside the aircraft. Airlines in the US do not enjoy the same subsidies European, Middle Eastern and Asian airlines enjoy, so the seating in the US is, from what I understand, at a much tighter pitch.
So those seating layouts are always adjustable. Hell, they could put 50 people on an A380 if they wanted, and give each person a two room suite! But then getting anywhere on such a layout would be the equivalent of flying on a private jet, ie; upwards of $4,000 an hour.

(11,862 posts)but I have used train travel even for business travel..I consider it 1/2 the fun of traveling, with club cars, and dining cars...ain't nothing like it.
A HERETIC I AM
(24,362 posts)I am a rail enthusiast as well, and I'm planning a lap around the country, so to speak, on Amtrak . Unfortunately, Amtrak does not have service straight across the southern tier, all the way to Jacksonville, so I had to make a choice as to which Eastbound route I would take, but either way, I have to go through Chicago on both the Westbound and Eastbound legs.
Anyway....I put the video up because I love airplanes too, and I thought the video had some cool footage. I hope you enjoyed it for no other reason than the beauty of flight.

(11,862 posts)...we used to go every year to the Norfolk show...
I do envy you a train trip around the country..and I also saw that train travel along the south coast has been cut since hurricane Katrina..they never rebuilt the tracks?
Southern travel has always been easier than those bustling cities in the north...even on buses

(11,862 posts)will you do sleepers? or spend time in club cars? or both?
Long trips would require sleep...they used to have bunks, do they still? Or does one have to secure a room?

(24,362 posts)Jacksonville to DC
DC to Chicago
Chicago to either Seattle or Portland
Down the coast to Oakland
Oakland to Chicago (That route crosses the Rockies via the Moffat Tunnel)
Then Chicago back to Jax Via DC
The shortest leg timewise is DC to Chicago, if I remember what the nice Amtrak lady told me on the phone. That would be the only one I would not get a sleeper for.
Another DU'er did a similar trip last year and put up pics and links to a travel blog. The name of the member escapes me, but it was cool.

(1,369 posts)Just from the aeronautical point of view, awesome. Jeez the take off angle of these planes is insane.
Thanks for posting!

(51,308 posts)Wonderful video.
Was it the filming, or did they take off at an incredibly steep angle?
A HERETIC I AM
(24,362 posts)The position of the camera, which is onboard either a helicopter or a small airplane for those shots, enhances the appearance of what is an abnormally steep climb. In other words, yeah it's a steep climb, but the camera makes it look much steeper than it is.
