No " faithfully execute" and no "protect, preserve, and defend"

Trump's inaction and indifference in the face of Russian interference in the 2016 election already represent a violation of his oath of office, whether or not he explicitly colluded with the Russians.

His inaction and indifference represent a failure to "faithfully execute" the office he holds! It also represents a failure to "preserve, protect, and defend" the Constitution of the United States!

The oath requires the president to be pro-active in defense of our constitutional order. That oath is not not consistent with a self-serving passivity Trump has displayed.

In the face of efforts by a hostile foreign power to subvert our democracy, what does he do? He disses the work of 17 intelligence agencies and calls "witch hunt" on investigations by the Congress and the Special Counsel.

These are not the acts of a president seeking to "faithfully execute" his office or to "preserve, protect, and defend" the Constitution. These are the acts of narcissistic mad man driven not be fealty to the constitution, but his own will to power and his own greed.

Bottom line. Trump is already in violation of the oath he swore!

Let's impeach his ass now, put him in prison where he belongs, and move on from this nightmare!

Calls for Democrats to impeach the Republican President, when the House also has a Republican majority, are a complete and utter waste of time. That is not where we need to put our efforts. Instead, we need to be working constantly to correct the situation in the House and Senate.

We cannot impeach Donald Trump. We simply do not have the votes to do that. It is not going to happen. We can hope he is forced to resign, due to what is revealed in the investigation, but we cannot impeach him.
