The poison Trumpcare Bill--now if I were Mitch McTurtle right about now.....

It would be pretty obvious that if enacted, there would be some major backlash, maybe even enough to lose (Republicanese: "loose&quot me the Senate majority. But I can't be seen or heard saying the slightest negative thing about it. So what do I do?

I get three or four of my Republicans to oppose it, claim it is against my will, but I understand if they are voting their conscience. The bill goes down, I pretend to be upset about it for a week or so, and then let it blow over as if it never happened, saying we are "hard at work" on another awful healthcare bill, but it's just one of many things we are working on right now, and we can't be taking up all the Senate's valuable time on just this, blah blah blah.......

There are lots of evil things the Republican majorities in Congress want to burden the world with. I'm sure they don't want to risk their majority just for this one issue, especially since so much of the American public, including their own voter base, has seen through it by now.

They're trying to pass something where the real pain won't be felt until after they're re-elected

Like vampires, there has to be a LOT of sunlight shed on them to prevent them from doing anything worse than they have already.

on a short list of options. There are Senators in at-risk states who would benefit appearing to buck GOPee leadership and standing for The American People, they wouldn't have the deaths of all those GOPee (and Democratic but they don't count) grandparents on their hands as a result of repealing the ACA and gutting Medicaid. Plus, health care is hard!!!! Made even harder when you give all the money to rich buddies.

Ya know, forgetting for a moment the human cost of tacking away health care from people, I find this whole process hilarious because it's a self inflicted cluster fuck for the GOPee. They were all fired up to repeal the ACA with NO replacement and along comes Shitgibbon, who can't resist talking shit on President Obama and his accomplishments, lying about being able to replace with a better program! It was that puke bucket that brought up replacement during his campai-er, Klan ah palooza thus kicking off the GOPee's current version of governance, Keystone Cop Edition.

This is my only solace in all this: That Shitgibbon and most of his Swarm are so screwed up in the head, so ignorant and unable to learn and mostly just plain dirt-stupid, amateurish and inept that they won't get much done.
