"Stop playing politics with people's lives": Kamala Harris rips GOP healthcare bill in op-ed

‘Stop playing politics with people’s lives’: Kamala Harris rips GOP healthcare bill in scathing op-ed

“Republicans are trying to ram their healthcare proposal through the Senate with little to no transparency,” the former California attorney general wrote. “There have been no hearings, no debate, and hardly any time to examine the details of the proposal. We are being asked to vote blindly on a bill that has life-or-death consequences for those we represent.”

“The American people deserve better,” she added. “The American people deserve greater transparency.”

Harris pointed out that even the president of the United States has called the draft of the bill “mean,” arguing legislatures should focus on improving the Affordable Care Act instead of trying to gut existing protections afforded to Americans.

Harris referenced a bill co-written by herself and Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) that helps families who need help affording their premiums. “That’s the kind of innovation that Democrats and Republicans should both be able to support,” Harris wrote. “That’s the kind of innovation that would help—not hurt—the people we represent.”

don't care a bit about we the people-it's all about the tax cuts for the wealthy. As for 45 saying to not make it "mean"-he's the idiot that cheers and applauds all that's done-notice he doesn't call it "Trumpcare"-he doesn't want his name attached to it.
