this person had the same job at Trump's hotel that the previous usher had at the Ritz Carleton before she was appointed usher. In short, he should in theory be qualified.

Trump fired the first female first usher for no reason other than she was appointed by Obama.

His reason was likely petty, but it was within his purview. I for one wish the next President keep the Usher he or she finds at the place as long as the person does the job right.

I think he has a right to be comfortable with the person who is doing that. I would imagine she didn't vote for, nor is particularly fond of, President Trump. I do think he handled the situation badly. He should have let her resign so he could name his replacement.

I would give him that his defense secretary is qualified, his labor and transportation secretaries are reasonable in terms of qualifications but that is about it. But this appointee is qualified at least on paper. I have no idea if he is any good at his job.
