Will someone please find this man a safe space?
Thursday afternoon, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) tweeted out that thousands of people will die if the Republican health care bill becomes law. He is correct.
The Congressional Budget Office estimated that 23 million people will lose health coverage if the House version of the bill becomes law, and the Senate version of the bill is, in many ways, harsher than the House version.
ThinkProgress estimated that an earlier version of the House bill would cause approximately 29,000 people to die in 2026 due to their inability to obtain health care. A recent Center for American Progress estimates that the body count due to Trumpcare will range between 18,100 and 27,700 in 2026.

(15,805 posts)I read that they cut at least a quarter of the funding for Medicaid patients, so what do Republicans think will happen to all those people! Can a person live after losing 25% of their oxygen? If someone has a disease like diabetes, AIDS, high blood pressure, PTSD can they get by with 25% less medications? For nursing home patients, do they get 25% less food and water?
