Palestinians disappointed after 'tense' meeting with Kushner: report
President Trump will reportedly receive a report about the Israeli-Palestinian peace process following a "tense" meeting between White House senior adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner and leaders about the issue.
The London-based Arabic daily al-Hayat reports that Kushner's meeting with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas was tense, according to a translation from the Jerusalem Post, and Abbas was reportedly furious at Kushner relaying the demands of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Israeli newspaper Haaretz also reports that Palestinian officials were greatly disappointed by their meeting with Kushner and Trumps Middle East envoy Jason Greenblatt.

(16,263 posts)He represents fatah and the PA. Whatever agreements he might sign could be challenged later on because he is not the elected leader of the Palestinians.
Until there are elections in the WB and Gaza negotiations won't be productive.

(58,603 posts)under Trump, we have less. Everybody knows two things:
1 Where Trump's loyalties and interests lie, in Trump and only Trump
2 Trump doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground, apparently that's why he plays golf.
Everybody knows that a Trump deal is not worth the paper it is printed on.

(9,350 posts)I am completely shocked that a young man that not only has little to no government experience, but also does not have any experience working on Middle East issues seems to be having trouble achieving Middle East Peace. I truly thought that a young man whose only claims to fame were being born into a rich real estate family and marrying the daughter of another man who was born into a rich real estate family could do what others who had spent years of their lives gaining education and knowledge about Middle East issues and working on Middle East issues could not do. Who could have figured that Jared Kushner would not be able to bring about Middle East peace?
