It would be fun to watch heads explode at the
Federalist Society or the Heritage Foundation.
Clarence Thomas would be struck into stunned silence,
and Samuel Alito would burst into tears.

Roberts does have respect for the law and the Constitution - but - his concept of both. Roberts' positions are considered and firm. I don't expect him to change when he finds new appointees on his right.

4. Thinking back to the ACA ruling, maybe

If I remember (and ye gods, my memory is not always reliable!) he was originally with the conservative majority to overturn the ACA. And the story was, he was aware that would make him the deciding vote on more 5-4 decisions to overturn one administration's legislation than any court in history. So he found a way to uphold it, in part because he was concerned that the public not perceive the Supreme Court as a bitterly partisan entity.

As I said, if memory isn't feeding me bad intel on this, you might be cautiously optimistic about Roberts moving to balance excessive looniness

husband's job to authorities ...she was a naturalize citizen and the said she could could not be stripped of her citizenship...so I think that bodes well. Courts have a way of evolving and can surprise you...look at Sandra Day O'Connor.
