They are the chairs of the Senate Judiciary Comm, one of several Congress. office investigating Trump et al.
I am including the link to the letter, it is 3 pages, all at the one link, of delightful reading(seriously).
They clearly ask Trump for the proof he used to ok the clearance, they ask it for each legal point of law requitred to grant a clerance and point out Kushner's paperwork is still not complete.
( turning the screws, I ike it)
the pressure on 44.5 is increasing from a drip drip drip to a trickle.

(3,233 posts)Republicans. They're about to find out just how much Trumpf HATES them.
First he came for the immigrants and they did not speak up ...
Then he came for the Republicans, and nobody was left to speak for them.

(60,010 posts)they have extreme similarities to each other, and as we know now, Kushner is deeply in debt because of that overly expensive building he bought ( 666 something)
exactly same situation as Trump in the 1980's.

(9,426 posts)to the big orange mistake should be enough grounds for refusal of security clearance. Jared has his own Russian collusion to deal with. What qualifies him to be in on brokering peace ANYWHERE? Being married to frozn faced, cosmetically altered Ivanka?

(54,302 posts)He makes other people's lives miserable. In this case, a Republican president's son-in-law wandered into the crossfire, albeit, being fully aware of what he was doing, though not at all aware of what he should have done before starting.

(62,387 posts)until the year before an election.
Just suspicious of Grassley's motives. He has been 'party first' for well over 2 decades.
Or maybe it is so stinky even he can't stand the stench?

(60,010 posts)Few months back, when they and others heard top secret info. re: trump/election?
He looked pretty grim.
More importantly, perhaps...he is 83, elected to his 7th term as Senator last fall, which is for 6 years, probably realizing he has no re-election to worry about.
in this case, I am pleased with his cooperation with Feinstein.

(62,387 posts)yet I also remember as somber as Grassley looked, nothing came of it then.
I live in his state and therefore you can imagine how low my expectations are for him -

(2,990 posts)I don't think anyone really thinks this process will be quick. We want it to be but it's not going to happen that way.
I don't expect much to happen before Nov 2018.

(37,648 posts)I wonder why they don't just get those parts from them, whatever agency it is. Then do a letter to the W.H. asking for the info not in the files of the security agency or agencies.
Very interesting. Could just be CYA, or routine, or it could be setting Kushner up for some future action. This forces Kushner/Trump not to respond, or lie in a response, or send an incomplete response, so the Senate is cleared in any possible future action it may take, or in case anything blows up because of his suspicious ties and past incomplete info.
Lindsay Graham signed the letter, too, and he's pretty much in Trump's corner. So that's curious.
They must really have a concern about Kushner's security issues.
dixiegrrrrl
(60,010 posts)They are pointing out that Kushner has been given clearance without having completed the paperwork for it, and they are listing ever law he broke by failing to file.
their letter is addressed to the WH, not Trump specifically, very business and legal like.
also was surprised by Graham's signing, esp. as Sessions is in deep doo-doo.
