Nancy Pelosi Gave 30,000,000 People Health Insurance And You Want To What?

Of course she had help, but she lifted something so heavy (with PBO) no one has done anything near as much lifting for the poor since the 60's.

You go girl.

Just because Republicans attack her, means we need to sack her?

Don't make me sick.

Republicans hate her because she helps poor people, not the billionaires they represent.

I like Pelosi, she's done a great job. But damn, this whole crowd of leaders is clinging to the same power they've had for years instead of trying to develop new talent. In any corporation, a leader is expected to be developing and growing one or more successors. Why can't politicians do the same thing?

I don't give a damn what the republicans want. I do not understand why Pelosi thinks she is the only one who can effectively do that job STILL. Is there no one that she has developed to replace her??

They don't groom people to take over while the CEO stays w/the company or is out of a job. And many CEOs don't groom anyone. Boards often bring in someone from the outside to replace the CEO, usually w/someone with a record of similar duties at another company. Since it has to be someone with PROVEN abilities.

Politicians do not groom others to take their jobs. Ever.

But I will say that the ACA wasn't Pelosi's bill. She didn't campaign for it beforehand or draft it. She did however rally the Dem votes for it, even though there was something in it that everyone disliked. So kudos to her for that.

I like your hero Bernie. But your whole argument is turned upside down when you consider he has been in congress for how many years?

From Wikipedia: ".......Sanders is the longest serving independent in U.S. congressional history. Since his election to the House of Representatives in 1991......."

And Nancy Pelosi helped to accomplish this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patient_Protection_and_Affordable_Care_Act

An accomplishment people, including Bernie, have been fighting for over decades and decades.

It's time to put aside our differences, which when studied, are minor in comparison to what the rat wingers want to do to our country and fellow citizens.

Pelosi has done a phenomenal job while under phenomenal pressure that has never let up.

Now Democrats want to attack her because Jon Ossoff wasn't able to win in a district that Tom Price won by over 23%? I know Hillary only lost by 1% in that district, but in the same election Tom Price won with no trouble at all.

The Republicans will be so happy if the progressive wing of the party goes to the mats and splinters the party and makes it almost inconceivable that there will be any substantive gains in 2018.

I'm a progressive and Pelosi sometimes frustrates me. But she's a fighter and she picks her battles with care. Yes, she took impeachment off the table during the Bush years. She knew that there was no way Bush would be impeached and didn't want to spend a lot of political capital and time and effort on something that wasn't ever going to happen.

The Republicans will use her name in campaign ads. The people that respond to those ads hate her already and are not Democratic voters. Progressives and centrist need to unite and support the Democratic candidate in every case. If we fracture and stay home or write in candidates because the person running isn't sufficiently pure then we beat ourselves.

Haven't we just done that? How'd that work out?

The Republicans will be chortling with glee if we take our eye off the prize and start attacking one of our most effective leaders in the House.

Democrats are supposed to take the leadership advice offered by Republicons Trump, Ryan & McCONnell? They can't pass a coherent health care bill, let alone a bill that Americans actually want, even though they've had six years and 60 votes to get it together.

Un-unh. No way we take their advice.

Pelosi got the job done when the chips were down and it counted.

....of the government when we got the ACA. Don't you think that made things a little different?

We had the Presidency and its bully pulpit. We had a majority in the House. And we had close to 50 Senators in the Senate, with 2 Repubs who often voted with us.

Since then, we've lost all of it.

She did not give us 30M covered without the party being in very good shape after and because of the disastrous Bush years.

We are no longer in good shape. She has to bear some responsibility for that too.

She can't just get only the praise and none of the blame.

and they did.

A lot of people helped with the ACA and they paid the price.

Next week, the ACA may be gone?

What are we going to do? We will have to adapt. We will have to fight for a new ACA.

People act like getting voted out (or not getting voted in) is some horrible shame that means you should be shunned from public service. I don't understand this, except that obviously running is expensive and a lot of work.
