**White House: Syria is prepping for another chemical attack**

We don't know? Is this a distraction? Why would he let Syria know he will attack , since he said he never lets the enemy know he is coming. He said he worried about the children there. i feel for those children there too. However, i feel for the children in this country with pre-existing conditions and disabled who will die under his healthcare.

to be grateful? ISIS used to take over the social services in towns and cities they took over and immediately start doing favours and social services along with murder and mayhem. Does Trump not know that a favor for a favor society is what the middle East was based on before the 20th century? That if Putin is doing Trump favours, it is going back in time. Why has he skirted normal intelligence channels with this story on potential genocide? Where is he getting information from and how? What strategic ally, with assets on the ground in Syria, would contact Trump's WH before intelligence professionals in the US government?

"SNIP.......

Specifics about the alleged preparations were not immediately clear, and Spicer did not elaborate beyond the statement. Some US intelligence agencies were reportedly caught off guard by the White House statement Monday night, according to The New York Times. The newspaper noted that it was not clear how closely held the intelligence about a possible attack might have been.

........SNIP"

(Later: only some in us intelligence and the pentagon knew about this possible atrack).

5. "potential preparations" are not "preparations". Lets not give Trump any credence at this point.

Trump is in a life and death fight with the Russian investigation. He will not only do anything he can to distract attention from the investigation, he will also create situations where he will be able to project his power for his base: war is the common response for autocrats who need to solidify their power against rebellions and dissent.

Trump's goal is a one-party state. He's attacked the judiciary and media as enemies, but the legislature is more problematic since he is supposed to be the leader of the party. He needs a compliant legislature to give a cover of legitimacy for his power grabs. So he lets them play at passing bills, while he consolidates his power.

The process for the TrumpCare bill is secrecy (even from own party), speed, no negotiation and threats. This is not an anomaly. It will become the "normal" way for Congress to pass Trump's agenda.
