because they "stepped out of line".
If the press boycotts, they will be replaced by infowars, zerohedge, breitbart, and other right wing nut "news" sources.
Maybe they could just play along and improve on their "reporting" and investigative reporting because some of these tools just report what they hear without questioning or verifying.
