ADC hotel wouldn't cancel a hate group event, so these are the signs that 'greeted' attendees

Last edited Wed Jun 28, 2017, 09:38 PM - Edit history (1)

The Southern Poverty Law Center has for years now exposed the Federation for America Immigration Reform’s (FAIR) ties to white supremacists, anti-Semites, and Holocaust deniers, but that still didn’t seem to make the Phoenix Park Hotel think twice about hosting the hate group’s annual “Hold Their Feet to the Fire” event at its Washington, D.C. location today.

While FAIR has been more emboldened than ever thanks to Donald Trump—“Getting out of bed these days is a lot more fun than it used to be. I’m having the time of my life,” the group’s leader just said—the hate group was trying to quietly gather at the DC hotel this week. After recently finding out about the event, immigrant and civil rights called on the business to not support hate groups, but the Phoenix Park Hotel ignored them. Cash over common decency, apparently.

So, since the business refused to reconsider hosting FAIR, leaders from Mijente, Undocublack, and Get Equal decided to help the Phoenix Park Hotel “welcome” event guests:

until the Police were called? I can't imagine the hotel let them protest too long without having them 'removed', some way or another. I'm certainly NOT advocating their removal, but in Trump's Amerikkka dissent is becoming a thing of the past.

Many people refuse to stand down in the face of adversity. In fact, they publicly confront it with the greatest signs. I salute these people. Not only are they brave, but they have the greatest senses of humor.

He owns an talk radio station in Valdosta, GA, and is a big Trump supporter. He's been posting on Facebook about this "conference," and putting up pictures of their remote broadcast. It hurts. We're still friends, we grew up together, but seeing what he's doing now just pains my heart. It's like I've lost a family member.

apparently I was misinformed. I've never actively supported them, but I'm generally not a joiner anyway.

Will have to check into this. Great to see these protesters stand up for human rights and dignity.

This group is obviously rather odious.

and with a much higher purpose, IMO... these racist fakers have appropriated the acronym for their supremacist selves...

the original FAIR is Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting and they work at exposing the BS of the propaganda megaphone calling themselves the "media"..

and, of course, much of what they fight is wrapped around hate directed at Muslims.

Thanks for that. I thought I might be losing it.
