I've seen Chris Matthews and other real anchors playing themselves in movies, so why not Rachel? My favorite to do so was on the first several seasons of CSI (the one in Vegas). The woman who you usually saw on the TV giving the news really was the local CBS station news anchor, Paula Francis. Unfortunately she has since retired.

if it's just a few short clips of her doing her tv show she can do that. or they can just run old clips of her tv show.

but if they want some more additional stuff. especially behind the scenes and things with family and friends discussing things they would probably need an actor.

and considering how rachel is the one that is focusing on this i think her part needs to be larger than the tv clips .
