General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsJoe and Mika only care about themselves. They're mad at Trump because he hasn't delivered.
Trump was supposed to bring tax breaks to rich people. Joe Scarborough is a right wing Republican. He and Mika want their tax breaks. They want the Wall and military contracts and all the other deals that would pump up Wall Street that Trump promised to his rich Republican voters.
The only reason they're attacking Trump now is because he's so inadequate, he can't even fulfill his campaign promises.
All the rich Republicans are trying to push Trump out now and replace him with Pence.
Don't be fooled. These people don't care about morals or kindness or human decency. They're in it for themselves.

(50,949 posts)be the insider media for Trump(R)'s white house because they carried his water during the campaign. They found out that he's disloyal and they are embarrassed by the fact that Trump(R) is acting like Trump(R). And they are so stupid that it surprises them.

(61,588 posts)They will install Pence as president. They will blame both Obama and Trump for all the problems facing the country, and Republican controlled Congress will enact draconian policies that give even more to the super rich who fund their reelection campaigns. These donations come in from all over the world thanks to the right wing Supreme Court's campaign funding decisions.
The fix is in.
About a month ago Joe Scarborough told his viewers that Trump is a Democrat. Watch for more of that.

(14,167 posts)Somehow they thought they were different from Christie or Giuliani or Gingrich or Palin or... yeah there's a long list of a$$kissers punked by Trump.
I actually don't think Mika bought any of what Trump had to offer, but was willing to sell herself (and her principles) for her romantic partner.

(7,113 posts)If you've been watching since the election, both Mika and Joe have been eviscerating Trump on a daily basis.

(58,724 posts)In fact, news shows generally refuse to allow phone-only appearances by candidates.
Trump was somehow an exception to the "call-in" rule.
Edit to add: Of course they have been attacking him since the election. If Hillary had won, they would be attacking her. That's what drives the ratings.

(58,724 posts)All the other stations made the same Trump exception. He was great for ratings on CNN, MSNBC, you name it. They are all responsible in enabling and normalizing his candidacy.
Morning Trump in particular, though, to the point that Trump thanked them for their support (embarrassingly).
Joe and Mika have also admitted to being years-long friends with Trump.

(7,113 posts)Studies have shown it's true that, throughout the election, TV news programs devoted much more time to Trump, even disrupting their planned programming to accept his phone call and let him bloviate on air to his heart's content.
I didn't like Joe and Mika either before the election, particularly because Joe kept insisting that Trump really did have a chance of winning.
But repeatedly -- even on today's show -- they have acknowledged being friends with Trump for 12 years. But as someone who normally would change the channel to CNN to avoid J&M, I've actually been quite amazed in recent months how they've been spending almost every morning thoroughly raking Trump over the coals.
I just think if you're going to accuse them of such nefarious motives, you should at least present evidence beyond the same failings committed by nearly every TV news show through the election.

(61,588 posts)They repeatedly normalized Trump and his behavior, while continually making more of Hillary's issues than was warranted by the facts.
Mika repeatedly made a false equivalency between the two candidates' weaknesses.
Now all of a sudden Mika has noticed that Trump's behavior is outrageous? She never noticed before? Please.

(21,846 posts)Why should I care whether this or that is their motive? The point is that we have a President who is into blackmailing the media in order to stop negative coverage of him.
