I once drove around the Gaspe Peninsula in Quebec and got to Quebec on July 1 - at the Quebec welcome center I wished the guy happy Canada day - he corrected me - as an apparently proud québécois, he pointed out that that day is for the rest of Canada!

(54,302 posts)4. Far from all of them. My best Canadian friend is from Quebec, and he proudly celebrates Canada Day.
He used to be Canada's ambassador to the USA while his uncle was Prime Minister, and on July 4th, used to invite us for a huge cookout and the second best view of the fireworks in Washington on the roof of the Canadian embassy.
Those were the days!
