North Korea sitting on $7 trillion worth of minerals

http://www.9news.com.au/world/2017/07/01/14/45/north-korea-sitting-on-7-trillion-worth-of-minerals

The value of North Korea's untapped minerals would be enough to pay every one of Earth's seven billion people more than $1000.

Scratching the surface of the secluded nation reveals vast deposits of more than 200 minerals including magnesite, zinc, copper, limestone, molybdenum, iron and gold worth more than $7 trillion, Quartz reports.

Despite the vast swathes of riches buried beneath the nation's bedrock, taking advantage of them has become difficult.

A lack of mining equipment and machinery has made it almost impossible for North Korea to extract some of the rarer minerals and sanctions have made it illegal for some private enterprises to establish drilling sites in the country.

Yet it is not being mined. That's 2 extremely poor countries hurting their people by idiocy.

see the quality of life isn't enhanced by material goods.

I'm conflicted as I tool around if my hopped up 25 hp golf cart or in my go fast pick'm up truck or my wife watching the 4K 55 inch tv or my fast computer and big monitor. Or our rushing to get in the pool at the drop of a hat. LOL

Obviously I'm not one of those leaders, huh

Peace
Have a great 4th of July weekend

are in countries that have large amounts of resources.

If I weren't so stubborn about not wanting to believe in conspiracy theories,.... On the other hand - some things are just blatantly obvious !

natural resources buried beneath their feet are more of a curse than a blessing. Regimes use the revenue to oppress the people instead of providing for the common good.

Kim Jong Un would rather keep them poor and obedient.

9. As long as the leadership is fat and happy they want the masses dumb and hungry

They will do just enough to keep their ruling class confortable and no more.

They need the people dumb and brainwashed, so while they have school it teaches a lot less of what a person needs to succeed and a lot more about the Kim brand of Marxism and even more about the cult of the Kims as gods.

So you have a population intentionally kept dumb who is 100% reliant on the government as their one and only source of food, housing, medical care, heat and anything else. They don't understand how bad they are being treated, it is all they know so they see every morsel of food as a gift from the gods of Kim.
