About a dangerous, demented president

Trump voters will stay with him even if he actually did shoot someone on Fifth Avenue. If Donald Trump were not president, and he said and did the things he’s said and done since becoming president, chances are that he would currently be in a strait jacket in the mentally disturbed ward at Bellevue Hospital in NY.

You really don’t have to be a psychiatrist or a psychologist to grasp that this man is (in non-medical terms) fucked up in the head.

Can any reasonably rational person watch and listen to Trump without arriving at the conclusion that this man is mentally disturbed and - more importantly – unfit to be the president of the United States with the nuclear codes within his reach?

It needs to be stated unequivocally that not all people with mental problems are dangerous, (or Republicans). But can anyone deny that Trump is a danger to the country and to the world?

And the Republican Party, “with visions of tax-cut sugar plums dancing in their heads”, refuses to pull the plug on this demented, dangerous man.

IMO, Trump, the GOP, and most of their voters, are a danger to our democracy and all of our freedoms. And American democracy is currently in more danger than at any time since the Civil War or WWII.

So what can we do about this? Anything and everything but remaining silent.

by using the 25th amendment. He's mentally incapacitated. We have to call our reps and message the media and get people talking.

are mostly Republicans who control the House and Senate.

The most important thing to every one of these Republicans is getting reelected. And if getting reelected means debasing themselves, and letting a demented, dangerous man remain in the presidency, most of them will do so without a second thought. That's today's definition of a Republican. To put it as crudely as possible, "Fuck anything that gets in the way of my reelection."

Being declared incapable under the 25th amendment is under the decision of cabinet officers and the VEEP. The House and senate only get involved if Drumpf fights his own VEEP and his cabinet. Then it takes 2/3 of both legislative bodies to find him incompetent. The important thing is that the process is started within the cabinet. Reps have no power to do that, according to the 25th amendment.

As for the other constitutional method, impeachment, once Reps impeach, he still has to be found guilty by a 2/3 majority of the senate to remove him.

Somebody here needs to refamiliarize themselves with the constitution.

It is all spelled out very clearly there.

and doesn't give a rat's ass about you or anyone else who doesn't buy into the wingnutism he's selling in order to keep his seat in congress.

I just googled him and he's just another Republican whore who is backing Trump and playing to the worst instincts of the voters in your district.

To be blunt, Byrne, and the majority of Republicans, care more about getting reelected then they care about the well being of America and Americans.

On edit: trof, I didn't mean to sound so abrupt. I appreciate your forwarding the op to your congressman. The point I was making in my response to you is that it will mean less than nothing to him.

I just like to write him "Dear Brad" emails about once a week.
Maybe they amuse his staff.
