Commentators unless they stopped their critical coverage.

Even during the campaign he was encouraging violence against the press, and he's on a long campaign to smear and discredit the free press.

This isn't about "personalities" of news execs, reporters, etc. This is about a President doing everything in his power to undermine the press.

I ass-ume the escalation right now may have to do with that WSJ article tying Flynn to an effort by a GOP operative's negotiating with Russian hackers. Because the question it raises is did Trump ask Flynn to do this.

And no doubt there are other big stories coming up on Trump/Russia. So news media has to be discredited.

I think the CNN thing is personal too. Because Zucker is or was friends with Jared and Ivanka. Also Jared met with some cnn execs months ago trying to get "fair" coverage of Trump which didn't work. So it seems like when their negotiations fail they go into full attack mode.

Most of these fights Trump is having with the media is contrived. He's not getting everything done he said he would (and he knew they were lies) during the campaign, and he's going to use these fights as an excuse for why things didn't get done. He knows his voting base hates the media, so if he can say "if it weren't for the democrats and having to deal with the fake media, believe me, I'd have gotten a whole lot more accomplished," his voters are going to totally believe it. He's using the "fake media" to cover up for his failed campaign lies, and the media is going along right with it.

This latest Trump tweet seems to directly condone if not incite violence against Americans. People hitting or shooting each other isn't a democracy anymore. Technically (in the extreme) I guess he can call people "low IQ" and that's his opinion. But this -- this seems like a violation of the oath.

I guess we'll see how congress reacts. After all it was only a few weeks ago that a GOP congressmen assaulted a reporter. Not to mention the horrific shooting. Leadership should be trying to calm things down not ratchet them up. This is not a good direction for the country.

What is very serious about this is that Trump is just an
instrument in the hands of wackos who do the thinking while Trump does the
clown act (the most famous is Bannon, but they're legion)
who want a change of regime into a one-party system with a "conservative" agenda as only option.

The extreme right is already installed in power.

Meanwhile, the Resistance needs to get looking like a real, united,
active, and strong front to be reckoned with. And I do not see that happening, at least not yet.
Where are the millions marching in Washington-- and every day, not just once?
What's it going to take for people to wake up?
