#25thAmendmentNow on twitter

Sorry Im not from the US, #25thAmendmentNow is the top trend on twitter and has been for
a while.

What is the 25th amendment, I take it, it has something to do with removing a president without the
impeachment process??? If a president cant do his duties you can remove him by the 25th amendment??

4. It allows the removal of the president in the event of incapacity.

It is triggered by one of two ways:

1. The president declares himself to be incapacitated. This might be routine like when POTUS goes under general anesthesia for surgery, for instance.

2. The cabinet officers and VEEP declare POTUS to be incapable of performing duties of office by majority vote. That's when things get interesting if POTUS disagrees. On that occasion the House and Senate convene to uphold the cabinet and VEEP upon 2/3 vote to concur with the incapacity. Failing that, POTUS returns to office.

Here is the 25th amendment. Section 4 is the one of interest here.
Twenty-fifth Amendment
It's a brief and easy read, just like the rest of the US Constitution.

Hope this helps you comprehend things.
