For whatever reason, Anglo countries are more moderate when it comes to change. Germany has a history of extremism going back to Prussian militarism and Jewish pogroms. English speaking nations are slower to change, but much more stable. It's why you never saw multiple revolutions in Britain and America unlike continental Europe.

Trump cannot defeat the carefully crafted checks and balances we've made in this country. For all the criticism and dismissal of the Founding Fathers, they created a pretty good system so that maniacs like Trump can't wield enough power to destroy the union. Be thankful for that on this 4th.
