Grover Norquist: Bannon's proposal to raise taxes on the rich is "a particularly cruel thing to do"

According to an associate of Bannon’s, the man who has Trump’s ear floated the idea of taxing the wealthy at a higher rate, saying it would be a “potent populist idea.”

Speaking with CNN’s Brianna Keilar, Norquist took issue with the idea of the rich paying more.

“It’s a particularly cruel thing for Bannon to do,” Norquist said.

“The whole point of high tax rates is so that politicians can tell the middle class, ‘Oh, are we screwing you? Not as much as that guy over there,’” the longtime anti-taxation gadfly continued. “High tax rates on the highest income people are an excuse they use to damage the middle class. And if somebody is in the White House and hasn’t read history — well, that’s unfortunate.”

I'm silently applauding Bannon's tax increase plan because it makes the wealthy GOPers squirm, but I absolutely detest Bannon.

He was pushing the old lie that Canadians pour into the US for healthcare.
Ali Velshi, who is Canadian, set him straight.
Grover Norquist has always been weird.

the television without a real economist on as well.

The Laffer curve and the Norquist anti tax philosophy has been discredited by every level of government that has implemented it.

Especially when you consider that such cruelty is usually reserved for the poor and middle classes.
