Is this satire? No, really...is this satire?

https://www.vox.com/world/2017/7/5/15924522/trump-twitter-putin-russia-hacking-meeting-comey-g20-briefings

Trump is preparing to meet Putin this week by reading tweet-length memos

Desperate for Trump to read their memos, aides have condensed them into 140 characters.

Updated by Rebecca Tan@rebeccanapsrebecca.tan@vox.com Jul 5, 2017, 5:10pm EDT

US intelligence officials are trying to prepare President Trump for his high-stakes meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin Friday by feeding him information the only way they know how: in bite-size 140-character pieces.

It’s a well-reported fact that Trump doesn’t read his daily briefings and prefers “killer graphics” like pictures, videos, and charts, or in-person briefings. Trump aides have come up with some creative ways to keep the president focused — such as mentioning his name as frequently as possible in memos — but this latest strategy might be their most desperate one yet.

According to a report from the Los Angeles Times, Trump aides have prepared “a list of tweet-length sentences that summarize the main points Trump could bring up with Putin” in the hopes that the president absorbs even a little of what he needs to know before sitting down with the canny, and sure to be well-prepared, Russian leader.

Think about that for a second: Trump is preparing for his biggest foreign meeting with the leader of a country that actively tried to undermine America’s democratic process, a leader who sees the US as his personal enemy, by reading tweet-length talking points.

Aside from everything else, I cannot stop looking at those shoes. Were they photoshopped, too? The heels are so ridiculously high. How on earth can anybody walk in those? Those strike me as "sitting-down shoes" - you wear 'em for looks, while knowing you're not going to have to be walking around in them too much. Even when I was younger and wore heels a lot, I couldn't manage heels that high.

A short reminder is then a handy thing.

In Trump's case, the shorthand reminders - that often require, and often assume - you are familiar with the topic to begin with - is all Trump is absorbing. Which means a heading could read, "Europe. EU. Friends" and Trump go off on how Europe/EU is not our friends - because he didn't read the actual information and is pulling, instead, from his vast store of ignorance.

Trump's aides can't even get him to read his daily briefings or even short memos, so they have resorted to the one thing he does pay attention - a tweet. Singular, 140 characters, tweet-brief.

Can his aides explain the trade economics of Poland in a single tweet? Without ever assuming the reader knows any of the shorthand for trade agreements? or the history of Poland? or its relation to other countries? No, they can't.

So all Trump is getting is headings and talking points on subjects he doesn't fully know or fully understand.

And with Trump's hostility to to the fact of Russian intervention in our election, his only concern will be getting reassurances from Putin that he won all on his own, so even those tweet-briefs will fall on deaf ears.

I don't know about you, but I use bullet points as a reminder of important items and NOT as complete information on those important items. You don't really think Trump sees a bullet point and already understands everything about what is being said by the bullet point heading do you?

http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2016/07/25/donald-trumps-ghostwriter-tells-all

Tony Schwartz was a reporter for The New Yorker magazine and he became the ghostwriter for Trump's bestseller book almost 25 years ago. He signed a confidentiality agreement, but it's expired now so he can talk about his experiences.

He absolutely corroborates everything even though Schwartz isn't quoted in the OP's article. The Cheeto hasn't read a book in his adult life and has an attention span of less than 5 minutes. He won't listen to anybody unless they're praising him and the only thing he cares about is praise in the media. The Art of the Deal was entirely written by Schwartz because Trump never contributed a single word during the writing and editing. He claims that Trump's vocabulary is only about 200 words, but in the early 1990's (there was no tweeting in those days) he did everything on the telephone.

According to Schwartz, Cheeto isn't capable of holding a normal interview-type of conversation because his attention span is so short.

This article is very interesting and telling about Cheeto's weaknesses.

Obama was smart enough for full text briefings but I doubt W was.

Summarizing large text heavy documents into smaller pieces highlighting the main points and providing infographics to represent quantitative data is often what many of us have to do on a daily basis to get senior leaders to quickly understand the main points when they don't have time to digest lots of detailed information before an important meeting. They need stuff they can remember easily.

Hillary of course can dive into detailed data like it's her job but many other executives can't.

But in this case, Trump might be developmentally challenged even beyond a typical Republican politician.

The fucking Trump "propaganda machine" is sickening. I mean genuinely, and not that I lived thru it of course, but being a astute observer of history...I can't help but think of that piece of shit Hitler. Seriously. Its astounding and not in a good way.
....Look @ all the so-called "pro-Trump" people, all over Twitter, message boards, etc. Yet, at the latest "support Drumpf!" rally where actually people are supposed to show up (countering the thousands that marched against him), there were, golly, like 10 people. and I question if THEY were paid as well.

The amount of money that the Drumpf machine must be paying for trolls & bots to make poor wittle Donnie feel better has got to be astronomical. I may sound naïve given the day & age, but...I just can't believe there'd be that many unbelievably fucking stupid people to support this asshate...(yeah, I know I misspelled, but "asshate" seems to be more fitting for him..)

If a story like this had been reported during President Obama's time in office Republicans would have been raging mad and calling for his impeachment. If true this report is just ridiculous. If he did not want to do the work he should not have run for office. What does Donald Trump do all day? Reports like this prove Donald Trump should not be President of the United States.
