I agree with the premise that Trump was not expected to win.

And the more we learn, the more we know that he wouldn't have, without his pal Putin pulling the strings.

Hindsight is 20/20, as the saying goes.

We go nuts when someone like Mitch McConnell tries to ram through back door deals n TrumpCare, when he giggles over his mission being Obama as a one term President. We go nuts when Paul Ryan practices granny starving.

And I am not for a second suggesting that we sink to that level.

But if we keep doing what we do, the Republicans will keep doing what they do.

The term "We are better than that" has a debatable level of value.

We need to decide how we are going to be "better than" Republicans while sending them home to their districts in search of new employment. They fight dirty. Taking the "high road" with someone who fights dirty doesn't always guarantee victory. It sometimes means that you are on the high road, and you've been thoroughly boned.

I don't have the answers. Wish I did. I am sure Obama wishes now that he had brought the hammer down when he had the opportunity.

It's Sean Connery's line in "The Untouchables"..."What are you prepared to do?"

Because Trump has his minions working very hard, right now, on voter suppression. And unless the 35% of his "base" faces personal harm from his policies...like TrumpCare...they're going to be right there for him in 2020. Hell, even if they DO feel the pinch, we already know he's going to blame it on Obama, so the base may hold.

With no idea who the Democratic candidate is going to be in 2020, it's impossible to know how the war will be waged.

But it will be a war, make no mistake about it.

What I really feel cannot be said in polite company.

He let us down. That really burns. He should have cared less about what people would think about him and more about the dangerous consequences of the Russians succeeding.

People (including myself) were angry at Hillary when she first came out with her book that was critical of some of Obama's foreign policy approaches, but she has been proven to be correct. We needed a more forceful, confident approach.

I like Obama, I thought he was a decent man who really cared. But was he the best president ever, as so many DUers seem to feel? Hell no. Not even close.
