I would just like to point out Trump fractured the GOP 100 times worse than Sanders did the Dems

and yet he still squeaked out a win. Had Trump barely lost in just a couple of rust-belt states, the GOP would be soul searching and blaming Trump for fracturing the GOP apart and attacking all it's candidates a MILLION times harder than Sanders attacked Hillary. Lets not forget that Hillary was firing back too. That's politics and it went on just as hard back in 2008. I remember some of the stuff between Obama and Hillary which was absolutely brutal.

By the way, this is not re-fighting the election it is in response to the Democratic candidate running against Sanders.

So with Trump dividing the GOP and winning the lesson here is that most people are comfortable with someone who isn't afraid to be a devils advocate and see if there are internal problems with party leadership. It doesn't mean they are not still for that party core values. We are a democracy and Sanders is just another voice. For heavens sake we are Democrats and getting us all to agree on something is like herding cats. We all walk to our own drum.

A candidate running against Sanders because he thinks he is hurting the party by not walking in lock step with party leadership? First of all that is going absolutely nowhere fast! He thinks that is going to be a winning strategy? You start going after Sanders because he doesn't walk in lock step with the DNC and the vast majority of folks both moderate and very liberal are going to be completely turned off to the Democratic party as having any ability to be introspective and open to a lot of different views. Once Hillary got the nomination every one I know, many who were hard core Sanders fans went out and voted a month early for Hillary and were excited as hell to vote for the first woman President. Same thing happened on the GOP side, those that hated trump and thought he was fracturing the party came out and voted for him.

Lets be real here. I know a handful of people here hate Sanders. It's like the same 15 or 20 folks who keep those threads alive and get them their 25 recommendations. Sanders is a blip on what is going on in the voting machines. He simply is nothing more than another voice who gets some media attention because he had big crowds. The vast majority of those who supported Sanders also supported Hillary! We are very close to one another. Can't we all just get along and move forward?

I think the rust belt is going to come right back out for the Dems next time. They gave the idiot a shot and now they know he is just a con-man.

He hasn't done shit but all he has to do is lie and say that he did fulfill his promises. Any evidence to the contrary is fake news.

and the fact they hate blacks, women, and gays. The only way Bernie would have gotten any of their votes is by convincing them he hated blacks, women, and gays as much as they and Trump do and that he would appointed judges that would write their hatred into law.

"Can't we all just get along and move forward?"

The party is getting there. There is always going to be a small portion who can't move forward because of a rigidity of thought or a biased reality. If there is a bright side to this twilight trump zone we are in it is that the left/progressives are moving forward faster then what was originally projected shortly after the election and it is bringing with it more than a few former republicans. The Republican Party is going to eventually pay a very heavy price for the short term gains it is reaping with trump.

Some Democrats demand purity. When Democrats vote, and vote D, we win easily.

Until we have party loyalty, we are doomed to lose and not enact progressive legislation.
