The very essence of the United States was rejecting the idea that being a member of a family gave you the right to be part of the government. That ability, and the consensus of your fellow citizens, made you a representative, not blood relations.

She should never have been the "other" person for the USA in that room. There should have been a civil servant, or someone with international experience. It's an indication that the Trump regime wasn't taking the G-20 conference seriously from the start. It was just an excuse to have a meeting with Putin. Because that is literally the only area in which Trump has achieved his objectives, or even come close to.

If he had gone to meet Putin, and not reported what he said to him, everyone would have said he was submitting to him. This way, the conference acted as a cover.
