It seems obvious that Putin and Trump wanted to keep their meeting to just a few, trusted, people so they could spend some time getting their stories straight. As well as plotting out the best past forward in continuing the cover-up about their collusion.
They clearly decided they would tell the media that the conversation included the Russian interference in the election, in the hopes of getting the media off of Trumps back on this subject. It was painfully evident that Tillerson's statement was a recitation of vague concepts likely prepared in advance.
Yet, all of the Sunday shows are talking about the meeting and taking the accounts of the two sides as fact. Why would two intrinsically dishonest people suddenly start telling the truth? It makes no sense.

A smart reporter would look at the two men themselves, and their own self-interests which should lead to the fact that the public is very likely being deceived by what they are saying, and that there was more to this meeting than just a relatively innocuous 'getting to know each other'.

You can count the number of smart reporters in corporate media on one hand... all the rest are newsreaders and propagandists, IMO..

(512 posts)Do you think that the CIA might have went in and wire tapped the room beforehand considering that there is an investigation ongoing? Whose permission would they need to do that? Or maybe do it covertly. It would help immensely in nailing his feet to the fire, I'm sure. Oh, please let it be so.
