9. I can't imagine what a bizarre and dysfunctional dynamic has always existed

in that family. They were raised almost entirely by Ivana and who knows what happened when that marriage started going south? It's obvious that Ivanka is Daddy's favorite, and the two sons have been desperate for his attention and favor even if they might hate him for his abusive behavior. Stockholm syndrome or something? Abused kids often try to get their parent's affection and attention. I'd feel more sorry for Uday and Qusay if they weren't such dicks themselves - but maybe growing up in that family, they couldn't have turned out any other way.
