Gordon Klingenschmitt: Americans Wont Need Healthcare If We Stop Funding Planned Parenthood Because God Will Heal All Disease
By Kyle Mantyla | July 10, 2017 1:00 pm
Religious Right activist and former Colorado state legislator Gordon Klingenschmitt declared on his Pray In Jesus Name program last week that Americans would not need healthcare if this nation would simply stop funding Planned Parenthood because, if we do so, God will heal your diseases.

(115,276 posts)*before* Roe v. Wade and the formation of Planned Parenthood? For his claim to make any sense, God should have been curing people left and right before that, and would only have started inflicting diseases on people after 1973.

(12,581 posts)I also suppose the infant and childhood mortality seen in my family tree prior to that period was fabricated, also...
Well, howdy-do and Bless my G-G-Grandmother's soul.
I'll have to make sure to inform her devoutly Baptist church-going ghost those her four kids of seven live births that died of Typhus, Yellow Fever, and some unexplained Pneumonia or Influenza didn't really die.

(34,120 posts)Or when polio was condemning so many children to death or disability. Or when small pox, measles and other diseases wiped out large percentages of the populations of North and South American.
Where was your god then, asshole?
How about all the other things that happen to people that require medical intervention? Someone with a broken arm or leg will not need healthcare or do they just survive with a lot of pain and a disfigured limb? How about a burst appendix and resulting infections - such as my husband suffered last fall? He would have died without antibiotics and medical care.
Take your fucking religion and shove it up your ass, Flingenshit. It's people like him that made me an agnostic and made me hate organized religions.

(14,491 posts)In the past 3 years I have lost 4 family members and close friends to horrendous illnesses. All were deeply religious. When medical intervention could not heal them, their prayers to God didn't either. All but one were under 45 years old. (20, 40, 45 and 65) So according to this piece of shit, they weren't religious enough to be healed. Didn't pray hard enough.
I swear if I ever see him in need of CPR, I will fold his hands on his chest and say ....Help yourself and pray to God to heal you.

(6 posts)Mn was considering the right to die for terminally patients. We all know this is purging of health insurance claims. This sends the wrong message to our most vulnerable that if it's to uncomfortable you take yourself out. The suicide rate is substantial in mn.

(2,785 posts)that historical Christian doctrine teaches people get sick and die, because of the original sin of Adam which was to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil not because of planned parenthood. These political hacks make a mockery of the Christian faith.

(24,259 posts)the 6 countries where abortion is illegal under ANY circumstance should all be disease free and have a super long life expectancy but that's nonsense & easily proven false (tinker with different countries to compare).
("6 countries" source:
"Six countries - El Salvador, Malta, the Vatican, Chile, the Dominican Republic, and Nicaragua still refuse abortions to women under any circumstances, even if it's to save her life."

(50,451 posts)Pray tell, Gordon, exactly what terminal diseases will God cure if Planned Parenthood is abolished that he refuses to cure now because he's throwing a snit-fit over the creatures he bestowed free will upon actually exercising that free will?
And that, my friends, is where the whole Religion thing falls apart. Let's say there really was a creator god. If he didn't want his creations exercising free will, why exactly did he give it to us?
