Anyone have the feeling some of the stuff we're learning about right now...

....is some of the stuff that caused the grim faces at the Senate Intelligence Committee closed sessions?

And that there's still a lot of stuff they've heard that we still have to learn?

kept in the dark and fed bullshit.

I think what Congress heard was that the whole election was cast into doubt because of those infernal machines that all red states love so much and that exposing the truth would create civil disorder, one thing no government person wants. Ever.

They don't want to risk civil disorder, so this has to play out over who knows how long. Our hands are tied so long as the GOP prefer to stick their fingers in their ears and say nothing. That's what it's going to take; the GOP has to denounce tRump for the RWNJs to start listening. Even then, though, who knows what panic it will cause.

Treason. Plain and simple.

Our future depends upon what Congress decides to do about it.

Based on their past performance I have low expectations, but hope springs eternal...

Rumor is that Trump is on tape offering policy concessions on Ukraine in exchange for Russia's help.

They have even introduced a bill in the House but the GOP won't sign onto it for obvious reasons. AN INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATION COMMISSION! The Dem committee people have been begging for it and I attended a march/rally calling for it. No one on DU has had any interest in it every time I bring it up. It would be like the 9/11 Commission.

It would do several things that Mueller and the other committees can't do...
1. It would be relatively quick (quicker than the others). The 9/11 Commission finished theirs early, 6 months instead of 9
2. It would be fully staffed and resourced.
3. Trump couldn't de-rail it by firing anyone.
4. It would be NON partisan
5. The public would have access to the info in a timely manner and there would be transparency.
6. It would be thorough and complete.
I know I personally can't wait years for the truth to maybe come out due to health reasons. I want this done as soon and as extensively as possible.
