But He’s New To This

By JOSH MARSHALL Published JULY 11, 2017 5:48 PM

Nice understatement here from Gloria Borger just now on CNN:

"And Don Jr. clearly has not been involved in politics. But he is an American citizen. And you get this kind of an e-mail from Russia – even though you know the people who are tangentially involved, because don’t forget you’re dealing with a family who the patriarch was involved in the Miss Universe pageant with Donald Trump. So there is a relationship there. But you get this kind of an e-mail and you should shake your head and say, “What are you talking about? And maybe we ought to get the FBI in on this.”

and every year I have to go through training on ethics, anti-bribery, anti-corruption...etc...

bribery is offering, promising, giving, accepting or receiving anything of value from a non-US government official [as a US company's employee]

#45 and Co. can't get a firm toehold in their latest gambit -- fleecing the entire country. Their strong-arm tactics, deceit and legal battling (an average day in private business) just don't play well as executive-branch policy/diplomacy.

I wish Democrats had more discipline in this one area: defending their own. Too often, it seems, Democrats expend valuable time and resources fighting among one another, especially in the face of this extreme existential threat.

Three top level advisors to the President of the United States were in that meeting, and Manafort is no "rookie".
