Scarborough said a party that does that, that sits by silently while deals are made with America's enemies isn't the party of the Gipper. He maintained Reagan would never stand for such.

"You mean the Ronald Reagan that started his 1980 campaign talking about states rights in Philadelphia, Mississippi, that spoke of welfare queens in Cadillacs and 'strapping young bucks' buying T-bones steaks with food stamps, the Reagan that sold arms to terrorists?" I said aloud in my living room.

Sadly, no one in the studio mentioned those uncomfortable truths. Morning Joe was allowed his lies and myths to pass uncontested.

I could only stomach the first verse and chorus. It was awfully pedestrian stuff.

Also, the juxtaposition of his morning show host attire amidst that band was bizarre– and not in a good way.
