I really don't know how the GOP is going to be able to handle this escalating Trump scandal

The racist base who LOVES Trump is going to be pissed if the moderates start distancing themselves from Trump or party leaders start to attack him. The racist Tea Party radical types in congress in safe districts will need to stay loyal to Trump while the moderates in swing areas will need to distance themselves from him. The Republicans in swing districts may be in real danger here. If they turn on Trump they piss off the base and if they don't they piss off the moderates and any democratic voters in their districts.

they say it's not important.

done.

Republican support for Trump is 80 to 85% and it's not dropping.
They love him and everything he stands for including being a traitor to our country.

Even Rasmussen, which notoriously skews right, has Trump below 45%.

This must be what I saw in passing.

I just find it astounding that tr-dump is not at the low twenties or teens in approval ratings by the general population. There must be a lot of hate mongers out there.

Daily Presidential Tracking Poll

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows that 43% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Fifty-seven percent (57%) disapprove.

And overall by not that much. If the people who DIDNT vote decide they've had enough of this treason, those districts won't stay red. When that happens, the deplorables will realize that 85% of twenty (the percent of the population they actually ARE) isnt going to mean a damn thing. The deplorable have spent 30 years believing they are a legitimate political majority in America because building them up to be more than they really are is a good way for otherwise worthless assholes like Limbaugh and Oriley to take (and keep taking) their money. Their awakening to this reality will be exquisitely painful. I'm looking forward to it.

They will offset the moderates with voter suppression. Republican congress has sold the country out. Big oil ,wall street,Putin are calling the shots now. I think we are fucked

I don't think there will be elections in 2018. Either voter suppression or war or marshal law. Something will go down and there will no free and fair elections. Probably some one party election like dictator countries have. The Republicans don't care as long as they get paid. We are screwed.

His base would stand by him as long as he does away with healthcare for the poor, cuts environmental protections and life protecting regulations even if he was caught raping a 5 year old boy on 5th ave.

Call it a witch hunt, nothing to see here, until facts start to overwhelm them, and suddenly they'll celebrate Ryan as president as if he had been the one inaugurated last January. They will pretend that Trump and Pence were nothing but a bad dream.

by the hundreds every day. It was dying off by the thousands a decade ago, since so many are gone, my guess it is by the hundreds, maybe low thousands.

Anyway, I would hope that these people, and their grown children, would be reminding everyone what was sacrificed to stop the fascist authoritarianism we are faced with now. This is a dark road we are going down with Trump, Putin, and their apologists.
