Idaho TV station forced to apologize after using activist @deray McKesson’s photo for bank robbery story http://ow.ly/BgoF30dEMhi

According to Business Insider, station KBOI posted a tweet on Friday night that used a photo Black Lives Matter activist DeRay McKesson during a July 2016 BLM protest in Baton Rouge.

Alerted to the picture by his followers, McKesson re-tweeted the story, with the disclaimer, “I haven’t been anywhere near a bank robbery. FYI.”

KBOI apologized in a tweet, wrting, “We messed up. We mistakenly tweeted a photo of @deray with an unrelated story link about a bank robbery. We at KBOI are very sorry.”

In a statement to Raw Story, McKesson wrote, “I’m confused as to how the image of my arrest in Baton Rouge was affixed to a story about a bank robbery in Idaho, especially given that the suspect wasn’t even black.”

I didn't see it in the story.

Some dumbass did a Google Image search and came up with that photo, I guess. Sloppy.

Maybe?

McKesson should pull a Trump and sue the station's ass off for defamation of character.

On April 11, 2013, Fisher announced that it would sell its properties, including KBOI-TV, to the Sinclair Broadcast Group.[9] The deal was completed on August 8, 2013.
