Phrase I hate: "The cover up is worse than the crime."

It's like saying the getaway is worse than the bank robbery.

It became popular during Watergate and it was a subtle bow to the "3rd rate burglary" meme (but we did not call these things "Memes" back then. It wasn't, It was a planned attack on our democracy.

People, Putin and his henchmen are using Trump and his imbecile GOP enablers to make sure that our country is permanently crippled - politically, diplomatically, economically and militarily. It's working and we are in very big trouble

Now it may be perjury and obstruction that end up being the legal hammers, but the crime they are trying to hide is among the worst against our country we have every witnessed.

It's funny how people have forgotten Michael Vick's yearlong NFL suspension had little to do with dogfighting... He got suspended for lying repeatedly to the commissioner's face when asked directly if this story had any legs...

And history is filled with countless other examples...

were much worse than any amount of lies he could have told. I guess it depends whether you look at the lies as the reason for punishment rather than the act itself.
