Romney did it on PURPOSE! (re NAACP)

Seriously!

Romney himself said he expected to get boo'd there. Think about it. Not only did he say he would scrap ObamaCare, but if you listen to the speech, he said several other thiings in a way in which he KNEW would come off particularly offensively.

He was goading people.

He wanted a stir. He knows that the majority there would never vote for him, so he used them to score points with the Racist component of his base.

I think he went because his advisors said he should try it. His racist base is so clearly in his pocket, and he needs independents and all types of other voters. I think that they expected him to be treated coolly, but not necessarily booed.

His campaign people are not that clever... they truly aren't. Remember when McCain chose Palin?

planned as a diversion somehow. I don't buy what is merely a theory. Just one more of his stupid pandering.

where the pool reporters said that Rmoney had just told attendees at a fundraiser that if "those people want free stuff from the government-then vote for the other guy". M'kay.

… I watched live, and I wondered why he paused so long during the booing… I almost felt sorry for him.

But now I know… He expected the audience to "boo" and he was savoring the moment… everything was happening according to plan.

Very scary.

It's so cynical, so obvious, so depressing. Getting booed by black people will help reassure "conservatives" that they should take the trouble to show up and vote for him.

There are only a small number of very rich voters out there who could plausibly benefit from Republican economic policies. The rest of Republican voters have to be herded in by appeals to fear and prejudice.
