As Americans, we should expect a minimal degree of truth and honesty from all our politicians. We cannot and should not summarily dismiss lies from those in power, be they Democrat, Republican, or Communist. "They all lie" is not a sufficient excuse.
Many of us have served this country to protect and defend our Constitution. Many of our friends and loved ones have died in the service of this country. We cannot simply dismiss their sacrifice for the benefit of any Party or individual. We cannot accept the lies that dishonor their memories.
We can never accept the lies that are now being propagated.

I would vote for a 'lying' Democrat' (although I can't think of one right now...no doubt you might) over any Republican in the country. When you vote , you vote for that Party's agenda not just an individual...and let me say voting third party (like the Greens) is the same as voting Republican.

(6,496 posts)They can probably spot the typically honest person in a lie, because that person is more uncomfortable with lying. They give themselves away. They can't, however, spot the pathological liars. I think they would be able to if they did some actual research, but it seems like a lot of Americans are too lazy for that. They think because someone says the same thing over and over again, that what they are saying must be true. It is really sad because these people think they are voting for honest people, but they just went from voting for occasional liars to voting for full time liars.
