After reading other OP's on this site about Sean Hannity's tweets, it seems Sean is very upset about being called "state run television" in describing the Fox News Channel.
Joe Scarborough appears to have hit a nerve and the term is quite catchy. Better than "Fake News".
As long as Trump is in the White House, I will always refer to Fox as "state run television".

(5,163 posts)I have emailed my thoughts on this travesty to the local station.
The last thing I want appearing on my local news is the visage of Boris Epshteyn.

(10,299 posts)... my beloved BBC is more like "state run TV" than Fox - on paper. News however on Fixed News Channel is more like the mouthpiece of the present government. BBC news is fiercely independent of the government.
But hey, if it gets under the skin of Sean Insanity then I'll live with it.

(270 posts)If this were true Fox would have been the mouthpiece of the Obama Administration.
I know Joe wants to make Fox news out to be all Soviet and make it sound like American Pravda, but in reality it is more the voice of the Oligarchs or the voice of Capitalism with a brain tumour.
In Canada we have the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), modelled on the BBC in the UK.
"...the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, as the national public broadcaster, should provide radio and television services incorporating a wide range of programming that informs, enlightens and entertains;
...the programming provided by the Corporation should:
i-Be predominantly and distinctively Canadian, reflect Canada and its regions to national and regional audiences, while serving the
special needs of those regions,
ii-Actively contribute to the flow and exchange of cultural expression,
iii-Be in English and in French, reflecting the different needs and circumstances of each official language community, including the
particular needs and circumstances of English and French linguistic minorities,
iv-Strive to be of equivalent quality in English and French,
v-Contribute to shared national consciousness and identity,
vi-Be made available throughout Canada by the most appropriate and efficient means and as resources become available for the
purpose, and
vii-Reflect the multicultural and multiracial nature of Canada."
I don't see any similarities between this and Fox news.

Ugh.

Trump loves the Saudis because he wants to model his own family dynasty of wealth, power, & secrecy into something akin to the Saudis. Shep Smith is the only one left with any credibility there. You are better than that, Shep. However, since Fox is what the masses are fed, maybe it is important to have a voice of reason there.
Meanwhile, Trump Kingdom, continue to lie, and throw your peasants some crumbs. It has been effective...until it is not. Now, why did the French & Russian Revolution start...when the people get enough, slowly, gradually, accidentally, anger will build and ignite.
