Sobering findings from brand new PPP poll

That finding is in keeping with the general attitude of Trump voters toward the Russia story which is 'don't know, don't care':

-72% of Trump voters consider the Russia story overall to be 'fake news,' only 14% disagree.

-Only 24% of Trump voters even want an investigation into whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russia, 64% are opposed to an investigation.

-Even if there was an investigation, and it found that the Trump campaign did collude with Russia to aid his campaign, 77% of his supporters think he should still stay in office to just 16% who believe he should resign.

-Only 26% of Trump voters admit that Russia wanted Trump to win the election, 44% claim Russia wanted Hillary Clinton to win, and 31% say they're not sure one way or the other.

-Just 13% of Trump voters believe that members of Trump's campaign team did work with the Russians to help his campaign, to 81% who say they didn't. On a related note only 9% believe that either Donald Trump Jr. or Jared Kushner engaged in illegal activity to help Trump get elected, to 77% who say Kushner didn't and 79% who say Trump Jr. didn't.

1. 24% of his own voters want an investigation...

Into possible collusion.

And this is being spun as bad news? That number is big. We're seven months in and a quarter of his own voters want an investigation.

You look at the glass half full/half empty and make the 24% base somehow less deplorable. I didn't think it could be done.

... are no longer admitting it to a polling organization on the phone. This is more like a poll only of the hard core trumpsters.

Yes, to anticipate the expected "but a LOT of them are worth talking to!!" a significant number of them are beginning to doubt the Bloated Cheeto. Fine. Let them join the Democratic Party, learn from their horrible mistake, and actually do some work with us moving forward.

Oh, right. We're supposed to beg them for their votes.

11. Never forget this: as Nixon's helicopter flew away, a quarter of all voters still supported him.

So figure that Trump(R)'s supporters were something like 26% of all eligible voters. If 64% of them are against an investigation, that only means that about 17% of eligible voters are sticking with him. That's better than the historical example.

13. Remember, this is still early. Just 6 months in. Those numbers will probably increase with time.

Look folks, you gotta remember that this is just 6 months in and most of those who voted for Trump want him to be successful. They don't want to admit they made a mistake. And true, some are just plain dumb and/or buy into shit new like Fox and/or brainwashed and hopeless. But not all. Trump's numbers will probably get somewhat worse with his base.

We need to fix the Dem party and concentrate on winning in 2018.
