The 33 year sentence was ridiculous for the offense. He's done 9 years for it, which is probably twice or three times what was just.

He was obviously sentenced for the crime(s) he was acquitted of committing. Maybe that's some kind of karmic justice, but it is a laughable practice in a modern society. This was backdoor double jeopardy.
