When...........
WHEN will they finally get it through there little itty bitty effing brains that WE DO NOT NEED HEALTH INSURANCE.
We need ACCESS TO MEDICAL CARE WE CAN AFFORD WHEN WE NEED IT. Regardless of whether or not we have a job at the moment and regardless of whether or not our employer can afford to help pay for medical insurance.
It is a national shame that the LUCKY ones who actually have medical insurance can't afford to use it for fear of being out of work so long they lose their job and thus medical insurance along with life insurance that provides the safety net for their family.
Mitch is from my state. I sure didn't help get his stupid ass to Washington. He lead a group of the most idiotic, selfish, hard headed, sorry excuses for human beings that our nation can dream up.
You people (Congress) better figure something the fuck out. The Affordable Care Act was a start in the direction you idiots said you wanted to go. Now you can't even finish implementing your grand plan.
In the meantime everyone knows someone who's struggling to survive because medical care is so damn expensive and at the same time employers are generally cold hearted assheads who can't wait to cut you off the minute you get sick.
Yes there's a lot of cuss words in this post. And yes that is unlike me.
It's personal...... TOO personal. I'm angry and I've missed a couple night's sleep and I'm ready to grab a pitchfork and tear the employer of a loved one a new hole along with anyone who gets in my way.
Stop talking about medical insurance. We don't need damn insurance - we need to be able to see a doctor and we need to be able to keep our job while we get well.

(16,780 posts)I despise Health Insurance companies with a passion. It is they who get in the way of Doctors and their patients. Talk about Death panels? Look to the money grubbing Health Insurance industry.

(6,916 posts)In the 1960s the president had a child at 34 weeks. Who died.
Today kids born at 30-40 weeks gestation generally live perfectly normal lives. That requires a NICU and good NICU doctors.
Also, the maternal death rate has dropped dramatically in the past decades. Keeping moms healthy requires a good ob staff and modern technology and drugs.
So we get far better care than in 1950. I don't want to go back to then.
