Sorry, but......

Pre-RIP McCain

.......................

Keating 5, from politifact

Keating complained frequently to McCain about regulations – and regulators – that he said threatened the success of the Lincoln Savings and Loan, a subsidiary of Keating's American Continental Corp.

McCain was persuaded to act. On two occasions in 1987, he and fellow Sens. Dennis DeConcini of Arizona, Alan Cranston of California, John Glenn of Ohio and – in the second meeting – Don Riegle of Michigan, (all Democrats aside from McCain), met with federal regulators at Keating's request and asked them to back off Lincoln.
-------------
But it is clear that indeed McCain "intervened on behalf of Charles Keating with federal regulators tasked with preventing banking fraud," as the Obama campaign claimed.

...........

and for those needing a reminder of how truly ugly his campaign against Obamacare was:

That said, condolonces to his family

Wonder how wife 1, feels

The Nightingale's Song (pg. 239): The storybook marriage that had survived separation, pain, and prison began to fray. Off-duty, usually on routine cross-country flights to Yuma and El Centro, John [McCain] started carousing and running around with women. … Asked about them, he admitted to having a series of dalliances during this period.

John McCain is known as an American hero, and at this time that is how he will be treated.

Seems to me the OP is separating a history of very bad politics, very very harmful politics, from the man himself.

That is the most anyone could hope for given the circumstances.

When Bush Sr. dies most liberals will be sorry, as he sacrificed in WWII. He was a hero, but he was also a man who committed his political life to some very bad stuff.

2 bananas, frozen
1 green apple, core removed
2 cups water or milk (non-dairy if necessary)
1 cup plain Greek yogurt
2 handfuls kale (about 1-2 cups)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Honey to taste (optional)

One of the most revealing memoirs I've ever read

He was Perot's 1st campaign mgr

But if he said the "I'm sorry" then that's fine with me. The right wingers have to live with that public humiliation of his so called atonement. Atwater suffered from a brain tumor, as well.

And Babs Bush? Don't get me started. Okay, here's the last hurrah of my photoshop of her since she's popped up here.
