he's a piece of work....sounds like it came right out of trump's mouth
President Trump has repeatedly decried the investigation into him as a political "witch hunt." Paul agreed on "Fox & Friends," saying he believes that Republicans have attacked presidents of the opposite party in the same way in the past, insisting that the probe into Russian election meddling is partisan.
Democrats lost the election, so they're going to investigate Trump for as long as he's in office, Paul said.
Multiple congressional committees all chaired by Republicans are investigating Russia's efforts to influence last year's election and any possible ties to Trump's campaign, as is a special counsel appointed by the Justice Department.

So what changed? How much is now in a superPAC, or an offshore account under his daughter-in-law's maiden name?

(14,167 posts)"You are achieving the objectives of Vladimir Putin...trying to dismember this small country which has already been the subject of an attempted coup, McCain said, without initially mentioning Paul by name, according to CBS News.
The charge apparently prompted Paul to leave the room, further provoking McCain, who went on to "note the senator from Kentucky leaving the floor without justification or any rationale." McCain blasted Paul for not getting on board with what he said were about 98 of his colleagues who reportedly supported Montenegro's NATO membership bid. He then accused Paul of directly working for Putin.

We should just assume Paul is a Russian asset. I think McCain had it right.

(1,109 posts)But now I am starting to see him for the worthless Russophile dickskin that he is. I don't care how you identify politically, but once you start aiding and giving comfort to adversarial ass hats like Russia it is game over.
I know my rather bellicose attitude toward Russia causes concern among some here, but I am concerned about why any democrat would imagine that we could ever work with them in their current state.
I reserve the right to distrust and loathe any and all enemies of my country. All indications point toward them helping Trump win. That is an act of war my friends. Obama tried to get the ball rolling by expelling Russian diplomats. That is historically a step toward open hostility. They hope that trump will discredit us so much that our allies abandon us. And it is working.
But I digress. Rand Paul is a jackass but he has no clout or following. He really needs to use smaller words to catch the suckers he his fishing for.

I have a Russian colleague in academe who is freaked out, as well as one from Ukraine. My God! And I agree about Rand Paul's audience.
Rand Paul is the consummate politician, holding his finger up to the wind--a bit like Adam Smith's "invisible hand" of economy.
