(9,874 posts)If a President declares a person pardoned it is a done deal. I do not believe the person pardoned can do anything to either accept or reject the pardon.

(37,648 posts)Maybe you have to sign it.
You also have to be charged with something, I guess, so there's something to be pardoned for.

Therefore a Pres. or whoever cannot be handing them out willy nilly to people who haven't asked, 'cause it would be declaring them guilty, and against their interests.

(37,648 posts)If it's your son, it could be at any time. He wouldn't ask. Dad would insist he get and take a pardon. Not that Jr. would have a problem with that. He would expect it.

(42,770 posts)a US court/government prosecutor - would they wait for me to produce? Or could they just nab them from the IRS records?
Too bad press gave up on the novel idea to press for Trump 2016 taxes (not under audit yet). Trump knows the worst he does only lasts days worth of press....the minor stuff - hours.

(42,770 posts)on the IRS team looking at his taxes? Either their audit was closed a long time ago. Or, they are picking it apart with a fine-tooth comb. Either way - we are hearing nothing. Amazing that someone hasn't leaked SOMETHING. Says a lot.
