Trump fires Mueller and pardons all his people and himself (God knows everything else he's done he's got away with so pardoning himself is not so far-fetched) - we have to hold the Repugs totally responsible for whatever comes with a constitutional crisis.
They better step up to the plate and do something - and sooner rather than later.
Maybe McCain is the one that initiates going to Trump and getting him to resign or risk impeachment. I don't think McCain - if he makes it through his present problem - will be running for office again. So he has nothing to lose.

(36,106 posts)Government operation wouldn't be breaking down. Pardons would be within Loser 45's privilege, etc

(25,241 posts)If Trump pardons his team and himself - does he still stay around and play president?
Lawrence O'D - was saying a pardon is an admission of guilt.
So would he be telling us that he and his team are guilty - but we got a stay out of jail free card - and we're going to continue to screw you?

(36,106 posts)he'd probably think staying in office would be fine
If Impeachment preceding led to his being told to get the fuck out, but he refused, then that would be a constitutional crisis

(36,106 posts)But hell, the way these GOPers are operating, they'd just leave the office of President vacant while they thought things over!

The Secret Service would lead him out at the direction of President Pence. He could be kicking, screaming and calling for the 82nd Airborne to come to his rescue.
It would not matter.

(36,106 posts)I seriously doubt they would. I only meant if they DID and he refused to leave, it'd be a conflict between 2 branches of gvt and a crisis.
They'll pressure him to leave though, and hurry to install Mr and Mother Pence so they can get all this unpleasantness behind them
