****BREAKING NEWS -WAPO **** SESSIONS DISCUSSED TRUMP CAMPAIGN MATTERS WITH RUSSIAN AMBASSADOR

DANCE

Sessions discussed Trump campaign-related matters with Russian ambassador, U.S. intelligence intercepts show

Russia’s ambassador to Washington told his superiors in Moscow that he discussed campaign-related matters, including policy issues important to Moscow, with Jeff Sessions during the 2016 presidential race, contrary to public assertions by the embattled attorney general, according to current and former U.S. officials.

Ambassador Sergey Kislyak’s accounts of two conversations with Sessions — then a top foreign policy adviser to Republican candidate Donald Trump — were intercepted by U.S. spy agencies, which monitor the communications of senior Russian officials both in the United States and in Russia. Sessions initially failed to disclose his contacts with Kislyak and then said that the meetings were not about the Trump campaign.

One U.S. official said that Sessions — who testified that he has no recollection of the April encounter — has provided “misleading” statements that are “contradicted by other evidence.” A former official said that the intelligence indicates that Sessions and Kislyak had “substantive” discussions on matters including Trump’s positions on Russia-related issues and prospects for U.S.-Russia relations in a Trump administration.

Sessions has said repeatedly that he never discussed campaign-related issues with Russian officials and that it was only in his capacity as a U.S. Senator that he met with Kislyak.

Russian ambassador is a spy for the KGB.

That is what he is, this is a known fact, commonly known.

Sure, they call it GRU now, same thing, in fact same EXACT thing.

The Elf should stay on, if for no other reason than to spite Trump/Russia. If he has any sense of loyalty to this country he will spill everything he knows to Mueller.

Worse case scenario is there's a Russian spy in one of our spy agencies. Trump is starting to be made aware of shit that's coming regarding the probe, etc.

And I could have sworn this story about Sessions already came out months ago?

Or was it another campaign member who discussed the campaign with Kislyak in yet another undisclosed meeting?

This is becoming way too much to keep up with!

... to show the seriousness of the crimes, to make it more difficult for Trump to maneuver. Sessions had quite a role and this pins collusion right in the heart of Trump's campaign, right in the heart of the McCONnell Senate Republicans.

This makes it even less likely Trump will fire Mueller.

He really wants Sessions out of there so he can put a stoogie in that will fire Mueller for him.

In a way, it serves Sessions right to be stuck in a job in which he commands little respect and much disdain by most others in his department. He should stay, if for no other reason than to thwart Trump's attempts to remove him and fire Mueller.

Holder seems to be aware of the tension at DOJ. Something is up... Most of these career public servants are truly patriotic and care about their country.

Trump -- or someone close to him, at his direction -- leaked these intercepts.

Why?

To force Sessions to resign. Trump then will appoint a new Attorney General who will fire Mueller.
