Sessions said he didn't commit perjury initially b/c his mtg w/ Kislyak wasn't campaign-related.
So he perjured himself to excuse perjury.

No not really.
But could dumpster fire and constant blazing inferno just have a heart attack or something ?

(7,768 posts)The Russian Ambassador's communications were intercepted (makes sense, of course), and they had the goods on Sessions all along. It has now been leaked to WaPo?

(23,204 posts)Our own people are disclosing the fact that we intercept Russian ambassadorial communications?? What idiot would do that just to bring down a Cabinet officer?
I'm REAL suspicious of the authenticity of this.

(543 posts)This could be - almost certainly is - his way of forcing Sessions to resign. In which case he can bring in an attorney general who will fire Mueller. When the Thursday interview with the NYT didn't force a resignation, the next step was the Post.

(3,818 posts)They too, I would think, want to get rid of Sessions so Drumpf would hire a new AG, who would then fire Mueller, which plays into Russia's hands.
I'm not jumping on this news. As they say, casting a jaundiced eye upon it.

(32,620 posts)Comey is no friend to the Democratic Party, we all know that.
But he is a good American and tried to do his job under enormous odds. He had the goods on Trump and several others, and all that evidence has been preserved for Mueller to use when the time comes.

(5,268 posts)There was already a leak from what Comey disclosed privately to Senators right after Comey's closed door session, that Sessions had a 3rd undisclosed meeting with Kislyak in April 2016 at Mayflower Hotel event. But the content of Kislyak/Sessions talk was not revealed publicly. That closed door meeting precipitated Sessions' public testimony where he claimed to not remember anything about the Kislyak conversations.
