5. Was a neighbor of mine when I lived in the Bethesda Chevy Chase area years ago...

Nice man....talented news caster....was always surprised he never went national and always stayed local.

Hearing he passed away makes me think of my own mortality....we are all getting older....

Watched the NBC local News every night for decades. A great man. He will be missed.

When I was young in Virginia, we got all our news fron the DC stations. Vance was an eloquent and credible newscaster.
